Academic Success Strategies for Students with Disabilities ACCS 30
  • Students will be able to communicate a good or acceptable explanation of what "using a strategy" means.
  • Students who successfully complete DSPS 30 will report using a wider variety of learning strategies and supports.
  • Students who successfully complete DSPS 30 will feel it helped them be more successful and confident in the associated class (es).
Adaptive Academic Preparation DSPS LRND3
  • Students enrolled in DSPS Lernd 3 (AAP) will meet one or more of their cognitive and/or language improvement goals they established for the semester.
  • Students who enroll in DSPS LERND3 (AAP) will continue to attend (find the service helpful) after their initial orientation.
  • Students who complete 6 weeks or more of enrollment in Acquired Brain Injury Intervention (DSPS LERND3) will report that the program is helping them progress towards their goal.
Career Exploration and Planning for Students with Disabilities COUN 12
  • Students will identify one (1) or more disability-related limitations to consider in their career decision-making.
  • Students who complete DSPS 12 will identify at least one career or occupational goal that they would like to pursue or further explore.
  • Students will develop a current educational plan by the end of the subsequent semester that is consistent with identified career interests.
Clinical Speech Instruction DSPS LRND1
  • Students who complete the course will report more successful functional communication.
  • Students will feel an increased level of comfort in communicating with others.
  • Students will improve at least one social communication skill.
High Tech Center Tutorial/Assistance Class DSPS LRND2
  • Students enrolled in DSPS LERND2 (High Tech Center Tutorial) will meet one or more of the learning, improvement, and/or completion goals they established for the semester.
  • Students who register for DSPS LERND2 (High Tech Center Tutorial) will continue to attend after their initial orientation. Continued attendance is viewed as indicating the support/instruction provided is beneficial.
  • Students in DSPS LERND2 (ATC) who complete the survey will report that the supports of the ATC is helping them make progress towards their goal(s).
Language Development for Deaf Students in ASL and English ACCS 25
  • Students completing DSPS 25 will improve their ability to identify simple verbs in written English sentences.
  • Students completing DSPS 25 will improve their ability to identify nouns in written English sentences.
Language Enhancement for Deaf Students in ASL and English ACCS 26
  • Students who complete DSPS 26 will show improvement in their ability to identify multiple parts of speech.
Memory Strategies for Students with Disabilities ACCS 31
  • Students will select mnemonic strategies appropriate for the material they are planning to memorize from another class.
  • Students will create mnemonic products that demonstrate an effective use of their chosen mnemonic strategy for material they are planning to memorize from another class.
  • Students completing DSPS 31 will create keywords (acoustic link to an image) for selected academic vocabulary.
Orientation to College for Students with Disabilities COUN 13
  • Students who complete COUN 13 will be able to describe the types of academic programs offered at Mt. SAC. (i.e. Certificate, Associate's Degree, Transfer Degree).
  • Students will be able to describe services provided by 3 campus resources that they identify.
Strategies for Success in Math for Students with Disabilities ACCS 33
  • Students will be able to identify at least one strategy for organizing math/algebra concepts.
  • Students will demonstrate the correct use of at least one strategy by effectively applying it to at least one mathematical concept.
  • Students who successfully complete DSPS 33 will identify strategies learned that they intend to continue to use in future math courses.
Writing Strategies for Students with Disabilities ACCS 34
  • Students will select and demonstrate at least one of four methods of pre-writing for an assignment from their English class.
  • Students will select and demonstrate at least one pre-writing strategy for college writing assignments.
  • Students will select and demonstrate at least one pre-writing strategy for college writing assignments.
