Outcomes:
  • Provide clients with psycho-educational resources on dysfunctional family dynamics, roles, values, and norms as they apply across families with diverse racial, cultural, economic, and sociopolitical backgrounds
  • Verbalize various forms and consequences of child abuse
  • Explain and apply the use of the genogram as a family counseling and assessment tool
  • Accurately assess, identify and analyze family problems/needs and implement appropriate interventions that demonstrate acknowledgement and support of client’s disability, gender, sexual orientation, developmental level, culture, ethnicity, age and health status
  • Identify patterns of codependency and the typical characteristics of adult children from dysfunctional families
