New Program Review Process

The Institutional Effectiveness Committee (IEC) has launched a new program review process in 2025-26.  Program Review at Mt. San Antonio College is a systematic and cyclical process used to evaluate institutional effectiveness, the use of resources, and progress toward fulfilling the College’s mission and goals. Through this process, every unit at Mt. SAC assesses how well it is achieving its stated goals, meeting the needs of the populations it serves, and aligning its work with institutional priorities.

Highlights of the new process include:

  • A three-year cycle, with the first year being a comprehensive review and goal setting. Years two and three are updates to goals and resources.
  • Emphasis on data review, analysis and reflection, leading to measurable program improvement and student success.
  • Program analysis will be the basis for identifying resources needs.

Dr. Garcia For over 75 years, Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) has proudly served the San Gabriel Valley providing excellent educational opportunities and extensive supportive services. I am excited and proud to introduce Mt. SAC 2035, our bold, long-range integrated educational and facilities comprehensive plan that reflects a shared vision for the future of our College.

Mt. SAC 2035 is the result of more than a year of inclusive dialogue, rigorous analysis, meaningful collaboration, and input from more than 960 students, faculty, staff, and community members. This plan is both a vision and a commitment that charts a path forward as we respond to the evolving needs of our students, our region, and the future of higher education. It offers a strategic roadmap for the next decade, aligning our mission with bold goals for improved student success, equity, sustainability, innovation, and growth.

Mt. SAC 2035 is grounded in our core values and guided by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office Vision 2030.  It is a blueprint centered on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice, Anti-racism, and Accessibility (DEISA+) principles, healing-centered engagement, and systemic transformation.  Mt. SAC 2035 commits us to advancing a culture of care and peace, equitable access, innovative teaching, and strategic investment in our students, team members, programs, and spaces to ensure student success.

Mt. SAC 2035 Development

Mt. SAC 2035 was developed during the 2024-2025 academic year through an equity-minded, healing-centered lens. Crafted through extensive internal and external collaboration which centered the student experience, it included over 962 unique student listening session insights and 1,024 student survey responses as well as listening sessions with employees and community partners which uncovered students' unique needs and helped to shape a vision for the future.

Mt. SAC 2035 is a story captured in three themes: what is, what could be, and the roadmap to the envisioned future.

  • Students’ insights were validated by qualitative and quantitative data that reveal both bright spots and challenges in students’ diverse experiences.
  • Student visions of what is and what could be are at the heart of this comprehensive, long-range, and integrated plan that will serve as the blueprint for advancing student equity and success for the next ten years.
