Outcomes:
  • Students successfully completing AD 3 will be able to explain the relapse prevention process
  • Students will be able to compare and contrast historical and contemporary strategies for the prevention of substance use disorders
  • Demonstrate competence in utilization of the substance abuse assessment instrument ASAM criteria which covers historic and current use, physical and mental health, family status, treatment history, and social, economic, legal, educational, or environmental constraints
  • Students successfully completing the course will be able to identify issues of cultural identity, ethnic background, age, and gender, in prevention, treatment, and recovery
