Global Opportunities: Teaching and Learning Afield and Abroad (GO!)
Want to offer a Mt. Global Opportunities: Teaching and Learning Afield and Abroad (GO!)SAC course abroad next year?  Want to teach at a foreign university for a semester or a year?  Want to spend two to six weeks abroad enriching your curriculum?  We’ll look at how our students fund their study abroad programs with a Gilman scholarship.  We’ll visit the faculty web page where the form for proposing study abroad programs is posted.  We’ll discuss Fulbright opportunities available to community college faculty, no Ph.D. required.  We live in an increasingly globalized society.  Where would you like to GO?

TBA  Fulbright Opportunities for 2014 - 2015
"The Fulbright Program is the flagship international education exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government." Since 1946, the Fulbright Program has been providing academic opportunities "to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns." Fulbright Programs run from as short as two weeks to as long as an academic year; Fulbright Awards are available for teachers, college faculty, professionals and administrators. For the 2014-15 academic year, there are over 800 Awards available in nearly every country world-wide. In this workshop, representatives from the Global Opportunities office will provide an overview of the major Fulbright Programs relevant to Mt. SAC faculty, managers, and staff and review the basic process for applying for a Fulbright Award.
