I was veteran from Nov. 1991 – Jan. 1994.  I served as an U.S. Infantry Army Airborne Ranger in the 2ndRanger Battalion, with a secret security clearance, specializing in close quarters combat, in Fort Lewis, WA, and then as a Calvary Scout in the 1-33rdCalvary in Ft. Polk, LA.  I was honorably discharged and am a disabled veteran, due to my parachute not fully opening until very late in my jump; this almost killed me and as a result, I have 3 herniated disks in my lower back to this day. I usually tell this story of how I survived my jump just before Veteran’s Day, and then remind students to thank their veterans!  In short, served my country proudly and love supporting my fellow veteran in any way I can from any branch of the military.
