VRC Peer Mentors
Connect. Support. Succeed.
The Mt. SAC Veterans Resource Center (VRC) Peer Mentor Program connects military-connected students with fellow students who understand the college experience from a similar perspective.
Our Peer Mentors are here to help you navigate Mt. SAC, connect with campus resources, and feel more supported throughout your academic journey.
What Can a Peer Mentor Help With?
- Getting connected to the Veterans Resource Center and campus community
- Navigating Mt. SAC and learning about available student services
- Connecting with resources for academic, financial, and personal support
- Building community with other military-connected students
- Getting involved in VRC activities, events, and student programs
- Sharing student-to-student insight about transitioning to or succeeding in college
- Encouragement and accountability as you work toward your educational goals
Peer Mentors are not counselors or benefits specialists. When you need specialized assistance, they can help connect you with VRC counselors, Veterans Services Specialists, or other appropriate campus resources.
Why Connect With a Peer Mentor?
Starting college, returning after military service, transferring to a new campus, or balancing school with other responsibilities can feel overwhelming. You don't have to figure it all out on your own. A Peer Mentor can be a familiar face, a source of encouragement, and someone who can help you find your way around the many resources available at Mt. SAC.
Whether you have a question, need help finding a resource, or simply want to connect with another military-connected student, our Peer Mentors are here for you.
