Jocelyn Vargas is from La Mirada, CA. She moved to Whittier, CA at age 13 and continued her education at La Serna High School. She is one of seven siblings and has always enjoyed helping out. As a pastime, Jocelyn likes to cook, paint, and go to the gym.

After making the decision to help out her family by joining the military, she joined the United States Army in 2007, 7 months after graduating from high school, and served as a Transportation Management Specialist. She served for six years and has been on two deployments until she was honorably discharged after sustaining injuries overseas.

 She started attending Mt. San Antonio College in the spring of 2014 to pursue her degree in Sociology and Counseling. Her goal is to become a college counselor so she can help other students reach their academic goals. She hopes to one day start a non- profit organization to help children with free counseling.
