I’m from Ontario, CA. I originally wanted to join the Marine Corps, but found out that the Marines get their medical personnel from the Navy. So I walked next door to the Navy and joined at age 20.

I graduated boot camp in 2010 and went to Corps school in Great Lakes, Illinois. My first duty station was Balboa Hospital, San Diego, CA. There I was working at 3 East. Here we cared for complicated postpartum and antepartum patients. From there I was sent to the Breast Health Center at Balboa. Here we coordinated with general surgery, mammograms, and assisted with ultrasound guided breast biopsies. During this time I picked up E-5 and was up for orders. I went to FMTB-East at Camp Johnson. When I graduated, I went to Camp Pendleton to CLB-1. I then received TAD orders to 1stLE. There I worked in a consolidated aid station with 9thCOMM, 1stRAD, and 1stIntel. There we participated in LSE and ITX. When my TAD orders were up I was sent back to CLB-1 which had become a consolidated aid station with CLR-1.

My personal awards include Fleet Marine Force Warfare device, expert pistol medal, global war on terrorism service medal, national defense medal, good conduct medal, and numerous flag letter of commendations for volunteering.
