Students interested in performing with the Mt. SAC Wind Ensemble should enroll in:
MUS 49: Wind Ensemble, which meets during the fall and spring semesters from 11:30 a.m. to 2:05 p.m.
Auditions take place after the first class meeting of the semester and before the
add/drop deadline. Participation is generally open to any student with prior band
experience and basic music reading and performance skills.
The Wind Ensemble is committed to helping students develop as musicians, and skill
development is an important part of the ensemble experience. Students who are not
yet ready for participation in the Wind Ensemble may be encouraged to gain additional
experience through other performance opportunities and are welcome to re-audition
in a future semester.
Students who are unsure whether their playing level is appropriate are encouraged
to enroll and attend the first rehearsal. We are happy to discuss placement options
and help students find the ensemble experience that best supports their musical growth.
