- Purpose
The Behavior and Wellness Committee reviews issues and concerns and makes recommendations regarding the behavioral wellness of students on campus. The committee reviews the mental health and social work case management service needs of students. Recommendations are based on stakeholder input, state policies affecting community colleges, and an understanding of best practices that support the complex, varied needs of students.
- Function
- Recommend service structures, including staffing and services, to support students experiencing a range of concerns (mental health, complex and urgent needs) to the President's Cabinet on a quarter1y basis.
- Review the specific mental health and social work case management service needs of special populations of students, including students enrolled in special programs.
- Gather information about the behavioral wellness needs of students across programs to ensure accessible behavioral wellness supports and services to students.
- Create, sustain, and promote efforts to ensure that eligible students enroll in Medi-Cal.
- Receive non-confidential updates from the Behavior and Wellness Team (BWT).
- Review service delivery data reports from BWT to assess any unmet needs across programs and students.
- Communicate with Professional and Organizational Development (POD) regarding training needs for faculty and employees based on observations and findings related to the mental wellness needs of students.
