Mt. SAC Band and Orchestra Festival
Friday, March 13, 2026
The Mt SAC Wind Ensemble invites local high school band and orchestra programs to our campus for our spring concert festival, to take place in the Clarke Theater, on the Mt SAC campus.
We recognize that directors have many festival options and we are honored when you choose Mt. SAC! Our goal is to provide a musically meaningful experience that is positive for your students, well-organized, and easy to fit within the school day.
About the Mt SAC Band and Orchestra Festival
The Mt. SAC Band & Orchestra Festival offers a structured performance and clinic experience in a professional concert setting. Each ensemble will be scheduled for a 20-minute warm-up, a 20-minute performance, and a 20-minute clinic.
Adjudicators
Dr. Karen Marston, Director of the Mt SAC Wind Ensemble
Dr. Walter Simonsen, Director of Mt SAC Athletic Bands and the Jazz Ensemble
With guest, Dr. Mitchell Fennell, Professor Emeritus and retired Director of Bands/Coordinator of Wind Studies, Cal State Fullerton
All ensembles will receive written and recorded feedback, a performance rating, a high-quality performance video, and a plaque/trophy.
Facilities: Upon arrival, ensembles will be escorted to the M200 rehearsal room for a warm-up, and then will proceed to the Clarke Theater for their performance and clinic.
Registration is $200 per ensemble (payable by check, on the day of the festival). Please submit a separate registration form for each performing group.
We encourage ensembles to remain on campus to hear the group performing immediately after your time slot. This shared experience helps foster a sense of community among participating schools and gives students the opportunity to perform for a live, supportive audience—an important part of building confidence and pride in their work!
