Employee Responsibility


Mt. SAC prohibits any acts of unlawful discrimination or harassment.

    • Who needs to report unlawful discrimination?
      • Employees that have the authority to address unlawful discrimination;
      • Employees that have been given the duty to report unlawful discrimination;  OR
      • Employees that a student may reasonably believe to have the authority or duty to address or report a violation.
    • Here is how you can help:

      If someone tells you that they have experienced unlawful discrimination, here is how you can help :

      1. If someone tells you that they or someone they know has experienced unlawful discrimination, offer support and encourage them to seek help as soon as possible.
      2. Provide the person who experienced unlawful discrimination with the link to the Human Resources Unlawful Discrimination web page.
      3. Health and Safety are the primary concerns:
        1. If safety is at risk, call Police & Campus Safety at (909) 274-4555.
        2. If health is at risk call 9-1-1 or call Student Health Services at (909) 274-4400
      4. Contact one of the following:

        3. Police & Campus Safety  at (909) 274-4555
    • Here is what you can say:

      If someone tells you that they have experienced unlawful discrimination, here is what you can say:

      • “There are many resources available on campus and in the community to help you take care of your physical and emotional well-being.”
      • “I can connect you to medical emergency services for medical support, some of which are free of charge.”
      • “I can connect you to a confidential resource.”
      • “I can connect you with the Director of EEO Programs who can talk to you about resources, reporting options, and interim measures of campus support.”
      • “You have the right to understand all available options and make an informed decision.”
      • “I cannot keep this information confidential. I need to forward this information to someone who can help you and respond. That person will give you information and options to help you going forward.”
    • Why do you need to report unlawful discrimination?
      • To stop the problem
      • To ensure access to resources
      • To identify trends
      • To address student concerns
      • To keep our community safe

Tika Davé-Harris is designated as the responsible district officers for Mt. San Antonio College.  The responsible district officer is responsible for handling complaints related to unlawful discrimination.
