Join the Umoja Learning Community!
The Umoja Learning Community (ULC) at Mt. San Antonio College offers students an intentional, cohort-based experience designed to strengthen academic success, cultural connection, and a sense of belonging. Students will enroll in four Umoja-designated courses taught by Black professors who are dedicated to supporting their academic journey and affirming Black/African American and African Diasporic perspectives and cultural practices within the curriculum.
Center Highlights
Umoja Community, is a statewide academic support program designed to enhance the cultural and educational experiences of Black/African American students. The program offers culturally responsive courses, workshops, academic counseling, and a strong network of academic, personal, and professional support.
The African American Male Education Network & Development (A2MEND) is a nationwide organization dedicated to advancing the success of Black/African American male students through mentorship, leadership development, community building, and culturally responsive support.
The CBCSS 1st-Year Experience provides students with a culturally affirming and community-centered first year of college that supports their academic success, personal growth, and sense of belonging through engaging experiences, mentorship, and opportunities for connection.
