ARRIVING AT THE CEREMONY

    • Parking
      Transferring Students, Guests, Faculty, & Staff

      Park in Lot F  - parking is free

      Park in Lot F and use the tunnel to enter Hilmer Lodge Stadium.

      Plan for Long Distances

      The campus is large and travel between parking lots and the event is lengthy. Please plan accordingly, wear comfortable shoes, and arrive early. Those with mobility challenges (including the elderly and those with disability placards) can park in Champion Structure (Lot R) and are encouraged to bring their walker or wheelchairs with them.  Mt SAC is not able to provide personal mobility assistance, so please plan to bring someone with you who can assist with mobility needs.

    • Parking & Accessibility for Elderly Guests and Individuals with Disabilities or Special Needs
      Elderly and Accessible Parking

      Park in Champion Structure (Lot R) Upper Level - parking is free

      Those with mobility issues, including the elderly and those with disability placards, can park in the Champion Structure (Lot R) Upper Level, which is closest to the stadium. However, the stadium is large, and guests will need to travel long distances. Those with mobility challenges are encouraged to bring their walkers and wheelchairs with them.  Mt SAC is not able to provide personal mobility assistance, so please plan to bring someone with you who can assist with mobility needs.

    • Check-in & Reception
      Check-in & Reception 6:00 - 7:00pm

      Location: outside Heritage Hall at the north side of the stadium near Temple Ave

      • All attendees and guests are invited to the reception before the ceremony.
      • Transferring students and acknowledged faculty, staff, and administrators should check-in by 6:45pm to ensure that there is enough time to be seated before the ceremony. (Guests do not need to check-in.)
      • Refreshments will be served.

    • Safety Protocols
      Entry Inspections

      All guests entering the stadium tunnel are subject to a metal-detector screening, visual inspection, and bag inspection conducted by  security personnel. The purpose of the inspection is to detect prohibited items and is for the safety of our guests and our staff.

      Prohibited Items

      For safety reasons, guests are refused entry  if they are in possession of prohibited items. Illegal items will be confiscated and turned over to the police. If a guest is found inside the venue with a prohibited item, the item will be confiscated and the guest may be ejected from the facility. Prohibited items include:

      • Banners and Signs (Only handheld signs and small banners are allowed in the stadium. Students and guests may not bring large banners or signs that will obstruct the view of people sitting around them.)
      • Noisemaking Devices (i.e. whistles, air horns)
      • Weapons of any kind (i.e. pepper spray, tear gas, handcuffs, stun guns)
      • Alcohol, smoking and vaping are not permitted. 
      • Large balloons or large balloon clusters that can obstruct the view of people sitting around them.

DURING THE CEREMONY

    • Dress/Attire
      • Suggested attire is dressy-casual but comfortable for potential warm weather and walking to and around the stadium.
      • Dress in what you might wear to a nice dinner or recognition ceremony (a dress shirt or a nice top and pants, or dresses/skirts, etc.).
      • Caps and gowns are NOT worn at this event. Also, there is no rehearsal for the Transfer Achievement Celebration.
      •  The ceremony will take place rain or shine.

      Media Release
      By attending the celebration, participants and guests grant permission to  Mt. San Antonio College, its employees and agents, to take and use visual/audio images of me. The college owns the images and all rights related to them. The images may be used in any manner or media without notification. All participants waive the right to inspect or approve the images not to be compensated for them. Participants release Mt. SAC, its employees and agents, from any claims, damages or liability in connection with the taking and use of visual/audio images.

    • Seating
      • Transferring students, faculty, staff, and administrators will be seated in chairs on the field.
      • All guests will be seated in the stadium seating (labeled "742" on the Hilmer Lodge Stadium map).
      • Please begin taking your seats at 6:45pm as we prepare to start the ceremony.
    • Accommodations & Reserved Accessible Seating on the Field

      Reserved seating for student participants who need wheelchair accessibility, sign language interpreting, or other accommodations will be located at the front of the student seating section on the right as you face the stage. Please contact Krystle Bybee at kbybee@mtsac.edu if you need any accommodations that you have not already arranged.

    • American Sign Language Interpreting
      American Sign Language Interpreting will be provided on the video screen and in front of the student seating section.
    • Restrooms
      • Restrooms are located in building 752 on the left and in building 742 on the right as you face the stage.
      • Accessible restrooms are located in building 742 on the right as you face the stage.

    • Food and Drink
      Attendees are permitted to bring food and water with them to the stadium.

AFTER THE CEREMONY

    • Meeting Guests
      At the end of the ceremony, the stadium will remain restricted to only student, faculty, and staff participants.  All participants will exit the venue when prompted.  Students may meet their friends and families outside the venue in Lot F or Champion Structure (Lot R).
    • Commencement on June 9
      • Please note: the Transfer Achievement Celebration on June 7 is separate from Mt. SAC's Commencement on June 9. Visit the Commencement page for registration and additional information.
      • If you are participating in Commencement, remember to wear your Transfer Scholar medallion to identify you as a transferring student! 

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

    • I cannot attend. Can I still receive my certificate and medallion?

      Yes, please still register for the event (if you have not already done so) and include a note that cannot attend. Items can be picked up starting on June 1 - be sure to visit before June 9 if you want your medallion in time for Commencement. (Note: the Transfer Center will be closed on June 7.)

      You can pick up your certificate and medallion at the Transfer Center on the following days (or after June 9 during the Transfer Center’s business hours):
      June 1: 9-5pm
      June 2: 9-4:30pm
      June 5: 9-5pm
      June 6: 9-11am
      June 7: pickup unavailable (Transfer Center is CLOSED)
      June 8: 9-5pm
      June 9: 9-4:30pm

      Hours are subject to change. Please contact transfercenter@mtsac.edu if you need to request alternate arrangements. You’re welcome to send a friend/family member to pick up your items if you cannot personally come to the Transfer Center.

    • I did not sign-up. Can I still attend?

      Yes, you can attend. Please follow these steps:

      1. Register for the event. Students who register after May 22 will not have their names printed in the program booklet or PowerPoint presentation. Your name and university will still be announced during the ceremony, and you will receive a medallion.
      2. Email transfercenter@mtsac.edu to request a certificate. We will contact you about picking up your certificate after June 7.
      3. Check-in at the event and complete a reader card that will be used to announce your name and university.


      Please note: 
      this event is intended for students who have applied and/or have been admitted to a university for winter, spring, summer, or fall 2023. If you will be applying for winter, spring, or fall 2024 admission (or after), you are eligible to participate in a future year.

    • Do my guests and I need a parking permit?
      Parking is free in Lot F, Lot H, and the Champion Parking Structure.
    • Do I need tickets for my guests? Is there a guest limit?
      Guests do not need tickets. There is no limit on the number of guests who may attend.
