Cassy Matavao
Four months before she started the program, her father passed away from complications during heart surgery. She had been in and out of the hospital and physical rehab with him for a course six months. That was her first exposure to the hospital setting, which was very eye opening helped her adapt to the career.
When she started the program and clinicals, she was often reminded of her father, which was difficult, but motivated her to helping the sick back to recovery. It was then she knew this was the career she wanted to be in.
With the guidance of Professor Monique Neel, she attended the job fair and landed a job and started five months after graduating with no experience!
"I’m so thankful for Mt. SAC and the Radiology professors who gave me the opportunity to have an amazing life."
