Mt. San Antonio Community College District has partnered with American Fidelity Assurance Company to provide eligible employees with supplemental insurance products, financial services, and Section 125 Flexible Spending Account administration.
Section 125 Cafeteria Plan
The Section 125 Cafeteria Plan helps eligible employees reduce their taxable income by allowing certain benefit costs to be deducted from their paycheck before federal and, where applicable, state taxes are calculated. By paying for eligible expenses with pre-tax dollars, employees can lower their taxable income and potentially increase their take-home pay.
The Section 125 Cafeteria Plan includes the following options:
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DFSA): Pay for eligible dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.
- Health Flexible Spending Account (FSA): Set aside pre-tax funds to pay for eligible unreimbursed medical, dental, and vision expenses.
- American Fidelity FSA Eligibility List: Review the list of eligible expenses that can be reimbursed through your Flexible Spending Account: https://americanfidelity.com/claims/fsa-hsa-eligibility-list/
Retirement and Annuities
The District offers voluntary retirement savings options through payroll deduction. Eligible employees may elect to participate in the following plans, subject to plan eligibility and applicable contribution limits.
- 403(b) Tax-Deferred Annuity: Contributions are deducted from eligible earnings on a pre-tax basis, and investment
earnings grow tax-deferred until withdrawn.
- Roth IRA: Contributions are made with after-tax dollars. Qualified withdrawals may be tax-free,
subject to applicable IRS rules.
- After-Tax Annuity: Contributions are deducted from eligible earnings on an after-tax basis and invested according to the selected plan.
Supplemental Insurance Options
The supplemental insurance products listed below are voluntary and are 100% employee-paid. Enrollment is optional, and premiums are paid by the employee through payroll deduction.
