I am more than honored to have been given this scholarship opportunity. My parents flew to the United States during a time of war before I was born- all in hopes of a better life and improved living conditions. Growing up, my parents bestowed their anticipations and hopes upon what I will decide to do in my future, and have been a strong force in my journey of academics and self- discovery. I saw this scholarship as an opportunity of success and giving back to my parents through this success. No words can explain how much this support means to me. I am absolutely grateful for this opportunity and how it has left me feeling more hopeful and excited for my future.

As a Film, Television, & Media major at Mt. SAC, I will be transferring to Cal State Northridge this fall as a Cinema & Television Arts major, specifically in Emerging Media. I aspire to work in film video editing as part of the post- production team. Editing is often a task that is overlooked but can send powerful messages to the audience, conveying a vast variety of emotions- like a cut to show differences between past and present.
