I would like to express my sincere gratitude for this scholarship award. It is a great honor to have been selected for your scholarship. Thank you for your kind consideration of my application. This opportunity will assist in opening doors for me as I continue my education at Mt. SAC and once, I transfer to complete my bachelor's degree in English. According to my field of study I will be teaching English at the high school level, where I will be preparing and encouraging students to pursue a higher education. I believe that students from the underserved community should have an equal opportunity to achieve a college education.

I was one student who had to learn to persevere when the odds were against me. As a disabled student with a vision impairment from a brain tumor I had to learn to adapt.
