SPOT-certified Faculty

The Mt. SAC professors listed below are SPOT-certified ane eligible to teach distance learning classes. Filters in the upper left corner can help you find specific Divisions and Departments.  Filter, sort, or magnifying glass in upper right give you more options to search for specific entries.

Using the SPOT-certified Faculty List

    • To Navigate SPOT Certified Faculty Sheet

      List has dropdown filters at top left and options to filter, sort, or search at top right

      1. Drop-down menu 1 lets you filter entries by Division
      2. Drop-down menu 2 lets you filter entries by Department
      3. Drop-down menu 3 lets you filter by full-time or part-time status
      4. At right, the Filter option allows you to filter by other relevant categories such as SPOT recert dates.
      5. Sort allows you to re-order the list by any of the column categories
      6. Magnifying glass allows you to search for a specific person

    • FOR SPOT-certified Professors - How to find your row

      To find your name in the list below: use the magnifying glass option at top right. Put in any part of your name to search for your entry in the list, find your recertification deadline and the dates when qualifying activities must take place. Please note that the Regulations Update 1-hour workshop must be completed in your due date-year.

      Inform us if you have any changes to your name at distancelearning@mtsac.edu.

    • About SPOT Certification and Recertification

      SPOT stands for "Skills and Pedagogy for Online Teaching" and is the name of the local certification course. Info on becoming SPOT certified 

      Professors must recertify every 4 years to be assigned online courses. Certifications expire if they are not renewed very 4 years. For all the details on recertification, including requirements, qualifying activities, and submitting recertification, visit the
