TRIO Programs
Mt. SAC TRIO provides opportunities aimed at helping students progress onto college and be successful throughout the higher education pipeline. We believe in fostering collaborative relationships with schools, school districts, and community organizations to provide enriching educational experiences. Through our work we hope to facilitate transformational change in the lives of students especially those who come from first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented backgrounds. For more information on Federal TRiO Programs please visit the U.S. Department of Education Office of Postsecondary Education.
The ACES Program at Mt. San Antonio College provides college advisement and services
in a challenging, encouraging and supportive manner to a diverse group of first-generation,
and/or low-income or disabled students, such that all students will graduate and/or
transfer to a four-year college or university. The ACES Program serves a minumum of
140 students per academic year.
Upward Bound prepares eligible high school students with preparation for postsecondary
education. The program provides academic enrichment opportunities, financial aid assistance,
higher education preparation, and exposure to career opportunities. Mt. SAC Upward
Bound serves about 73 students from high schools in the Pomona Unified School District:
Ganesha High School and Hacienda La Puente Unified School District: La Puente High
School.
