Pursuant to the faculty contract, the Salary and Leaves Committee has a published
list of pre-approved district sponsored workshops for Professional Growth, pre-approved
graduate courses for Column Crossover, and the Petition for Course Approval for Professional
Growth or Column Crossover.

New Faculty Seminar
The New Faculty Seminar is a year-long program designed to promote professional growth
for our new class of full-time faculty. The seminar covers topics such as tenure and
portfolio process, campus processes and governance, campus resources for faculty,
classroom management strategies and much more.
Faculty FLEX Days
Two days of each academic year are designated as FLEX (flexible) days to provide faculty time to participate in professional development activities that
are related to staff, student, and instructional improvement.
