We are hosting a one-day AI Hackathon focused on career exploration for Mt. SAC and local high school students on Saturday, May 9, 2026, and I’d like to invite you to participate as a counselor, librarian, or career education faculty expert.
This event is designed to shift the conversation around AI—from concern about job disruption to using AI as a tool for career discovery, skill-building, and opportunity creation.
Students will spend the day learning two accessible AI tools (custom chatbots and “vibe coding”), working in teams, and developing projects connected to career pathways. Your role will be to engage with students as they explore ideas, ask questions, and make connections between their interests and real-world opportunities.
Participation Options (Flexible)
You may sign up for:
- 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM ($150 stipend)
- 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM ($150 stipend)
- Full session: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM ($300 stipend)
