Mt. SAC journalism students won a total of 22 awards recently at the Journalism Association of Community Colleges state convention in Sacramento.

Mt. San Antonio College was voted the favorite in four different categories by readers of the San Gabriel Valley News Group, which includes the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Pasadena Star News and Whittier Daily News.

Mt. San Antonio College ranks among the state’s top community colleges in transfers to universities, ranking sixth in overall student transfers to the Cal State University and the University of California systems for the 2015-16 academic year.

On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at about 9 a.m, Public Safety officers detained a man in parking Lot F for suspicion of lewd behavior. Two students walking to class, and an employee walking to work, saw the suspect behaving suspiciously inside his car and immediately reported it to Public Safety.

On May 21, the Music Department will be holding the student show case at 2:00p.m. in the Recital Hall. Students will showcase their talents as soloists, duets, and ensembles.

SAC Forensics Team took second place overall at the 2017 Phi Rho Pi National Speech and Debate Tournament held recently in Washington, D.C., with students winning 10 gold medals, four silver medals, and four bronze medals.
