Coronavirus Update

  • A second employee tested positive for COVID-19
  • The employee was last on campus Thursday, March 19, 2020, and did not develop symptoms until Thursday, March 26
  • Due to this length of time, Mt. SAC 's medical expert does not believe there is an increased risk to the college community
  • The employee learned of the diagnosis on 3/30/2020
  • The first  employee of Mt. SAC that tested positive for COVID-19 was last on campus in Building 9B (Student Services) on Tuesday, March 17 and reported symptoms on March 19
  • Most classes and coursework went online starting March 29, 2020
  • Many Student Services  went online as well
  • Instructors contacted students for next steps
  • Campus continues to be closed
  • Student laptop loan program available
  • Parking permits extended through Fall 2020 semester OR reimbursed
  • Deadline to withdraw extended to Sunday, June 7
  • Enrollment fee refunds to withdrawals or if class is cancelled
  • Work study and student assistants will continue to be paid, but not required to work
