Dr. Richard Carmona, the 17th Surgeon General of the United States, will be the keynote speaker at Mt. San Antonio College's 12th Annual Health Professions Conference on Friday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., at various locations on campus.

Mt. San Antonio College will host the 9th Annual Kepler Distinguished Lecture and Scholarship Dinner featuring guest lecturer JPL senior research scientist Dr. Bonnie Buratti on Saturday, April 14, 5 p.m., beginning in the college's dance studio, building 2T, room 121.

On April 2, 2018, Mt. San Antonio College launched a new assessment tool to help students get placed in English and Math courses, called the Assessment Questionnaire (AQ).

Mt. SAC will kick off a new campaign to address student hunger and nutritional deficiencies as the college hosts Mountie Fresh Day on Tuesday, Apr. 10, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Kerr's Corner area near the Student Life Office.

Mt. SAC's bookstore, the SacBookRac, will hold an open house on Wednesday, Apr. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. The open house celebrates the bookstore's new management, Barnes & Noble.

Mt. SAC students Edilberto "Iggy" Ylo and Amir Freeman are two of the 83 community college students throughout the state recently selected for the 2018 All-California Academic teams, chosen by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international community college honor society.

The Mt. SAC Forensics Team won 13 awards, including one gold medal, five silver, and seven bronze Mar. 8-11 at the 2018 California Community Colleges Forensics Association State Championship tournament in Sacramento. Overall, Mt. SAC placed fourth behind Orange Coast, Moorpark, and Solano College.

Competing against community colleges and four-year universities, Mt. SAC journalism students swept the competition winning 25 awards at the California College Media Association Awards Banquet held Mar. 3 in Long Beach.

Mt. SAC and the West Covina Unified School District jointly held a ribbon-cutting March 15 for their new collaborative Early College Academy, a dual enrollment public high school.

Mt. SAC held a ribbon-cutting and open house for its new $64-million Business and Computer Technology Complex on Wednesday, March 14.
