Travis Navarrete (2019)

During his enrollment at Mt. SAC, Travis Navarrete participated in an internship at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, studying interstellar and heliospheric physics. The specific work included the research of binary Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars and phases of stellar evolution. In addition, Travis worked at the Mt. SAC Planetarium as a show host and is currently the President of the campus Astronomy Club. He can now add “Kepler Scholar” to his list of accomplishments. Travis will transfer to Cal Poly Pomona this fall (2019) as a Mathematics major. Upon earning his B.S., he will pursue an M.S. in Math. Once he earns his post-graduate degree, Travis plans to serve his country and enlist in the United States Air Force. His career goal, following his patriotic duty, is to teach mathematics at the college level.
