Eliezer V. Martinez – 2016 ESSRG

I started my college journey as humanities major. In completing my general education requirement, I took a geology class to fulfill my science requirements. And I discovered my love for Geology. This class not only broadened my knowledge in geoscience, it was a wonderful opportunity to explore the science field. Geology classes have taught me important skills required in upper-division courses. These skills have advanced me in my understanding of geology materials in my current classes. Being a Redinger’s scholarship recipient has granted me the opportunity to be a part of a scientific community that allows me to grow as an individual.
