Richard Carlos will be developing a focused study project related to the benefits of geoscience field studies for undergraduates. The project design will include a variety of research components that will document, quantify and evaluate various elements of field studies as a correlation with lecture/ laboratory studies and learning. Richard was born and raised in the Los Angeles area and prior to coming to Mt. San Antonio College he worked in the entertainment industry as an arts administrator. While working, Richard completed his BS degree in Geography at UCLA where his studies within the department of Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences included investigations of the Green land Icecaps, freshwater delta hydrology, and biogeochemical properties of the Southern California coastal waters . Currently, Richard attends Mt. SAC and is completing related science coursework in preparation for graduate studies in advanced geology.
