AA-T in Communication Studies

To earn your AA-T in Communication Studies, first, take the core course:

SPCH 1A (or 1AH) - Public Speaking - 4 Units

Second, fulfill the unit/course requirements for List A, B, and C:

List A (Select two courses): 6 units

  • SPCH 6 - Group Communication - 3 units
  • SPCH 20 (or 20H) - Argumentation & Debate - 3 units
  • SPCH 26 (or 26H) - Interpersonal Communication - 3 units

List B (select two courses): 5-7 units

  • SPCH 2
  • SPCH 4
  • SPCH 7 (or 7H)

To satisfy list B, students may select one course for a maximum of 3 units from: JOUR 100, SPCH 15, SPCH 16, SPCH 17 or SPCH 18

List C (select one): 3-4 units

  • Engl 1C (or 1CH)
  • Journ 101
  • SPCH 3
  • SPCH 8 (or 8H)
  • SPCH 30

To satisfy list c, students may also select any course not used from List A or List B above

Total Units: 17-24
