Achieving in College, Ensuring Success (ACES)

  

The ACES Program at Mt. San Antonio College provides college advisement and services in a challenging, encouraging and supportive manner to a diverse group of first-generation, and/or low income or disabled students, such that all students will graduate and/or transfer to a four-year college or university.

Participants will be exposed to cultural enrichment activities such as partaking in community service, attending plays, and hikes.

Financial Literacy

Participants will be informed about public and private scholarships. Participants will also receive assistance in completing their FAFSA application from a Mt. SAC financial aid representative.

Transfer Information

The ACES Program will provide and assist with the transfer process such as applying and reviewing financial aid packages from the four-year institutions.

College Visits

The ACES participants will have an opportunity to partake in college campus tours. (UC, CSU and Private)

Summer Science Transfer Experience
  • Complete a transferable physical science requirement (UC, CSU, Degree applicable)
  • Complete Counseling 7: Intro to the Transfer Process
  • Free academic tutoring
  • Free textbook and lab manual
  • Free success kit
  • Free 1-week stay at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB)
  • University college tours

  • U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or Undocumented (AB 540)
& Must meet at least one of the following:
  • Federal Low-Income Eligibility
  • First-Generation College Student
  • Documented Disability

Program Outcomes

  • 96%
    of all ACES participants in 2022 persisted to the next academic year.
  • 99%
    of all ACES participants in 2022 maintained in good academic standing.
  • 55%
    of all ACES participants in the cohort of 2018 graduated from the grantee institution.
  • 43%
    of all ACES participants in the cohort of 2018 graduated and transferred to a 4-year institution.
