Farmworker Awareness Week Panel Thursday 3/26
February 26, 2026 - 01:28 PM
Join us in celebrating National Farmworker Awareness Week with a panel discussion to unearth stories of shared resistance within farmworker communities, like the Filipino and Mexican farmworkers of California in the 1960s, which gave way to important victories such as the establishment of the United Farm Workers of America (UFW). Our panel of Ethnic Studies professors will share lessons on labor, justice, and solidarity to inspire unity across movements for collective liberation in our communities today.
Date: Thursday, March 26, 2026
Time: 3-5pm
Location: Multicultural Center (410-2030)
Panelists:
- Professor April Tellez, History & Ethnic Studies
- Professor Prahas Rudraraju, Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies
- Professor Michael Vazquez, Ethnic Studies
