Immigration and Deportation
in Los Angeles

In response to issues raised by current immigration policies, ongoing ICE deportation raids, and threats of mass detainment and deportation (based on the politics and practices of exclusion), Scripps Humanities Institute will apply the lenses of sociology, legal rights, immigrant culture, artistic expression and community activism to examine current immigrant realities in our locale, Los Angeles.  What can be understood and what is to be done?  We aim to interact with and learn from people who make a difference.
