Re-qualification Process

Process for re-qualification for the Paramedic Program:
  1. Students will notify the program director of their interest in re-qualifying two weeks prior to the EMS 1 date for the class they wish to try to re-enter as posted on the program website.
  2. Students will arrange with the Director to take the following examinations/quizzes:
  • Four (4) quizzes from EMS 1, two covering EMT content and two basic math to be selected by the Director.  Pass each quiz at 80% or above.
  • Take and pass the final exam for EMS 1 at 80% or above.
Prior to beginning the re-qualification process it is highly recommended that students do the following:
  • Review specific life elements, study time and habits, workload, distractions, etc. that may have impacted success in the rigorous program
  • Make an appointment with the Academic Support and Achievement Center and address study methods and test-taking techniques
  • Review previous course work for areas needing additional/different study effort
  • While preparing to re-qualify, students are encouraged to use the AAOS A&P text as well as Mosby's Paramedic Textbook. Students may also contact Faculty for tutoring as necessary.
