Paramedic Textbooks

For program preparation, the following books are mandatory. The publisher's textbooks may be bought in advance of the program, but the Paramedic  Curriculum is a special order item that will be discussed at the Orientation and is specifically printed for each class.

1. Mt. SAC Paramedic Curriculum (printed at Day N Nite Copy for each class - do NOT buy old versions. NO copying allowed - this is a copyrighted text and protections are in place to prevent duplication)
   
   
2. Calculation of Drug Dosages (a worktext) by Sheila Ogden, 10th Edition
3. Anatomy and Physiology for Prehospital Providers by AAOS, 2nd Ed. (2015)
4. Mosby's Paramedic Textbook, 4th Edition (may be purchased after EMS 1)

There are other supportive textbooks for the Paramedic Program upon acceptance that will be discussed at the program Orientation. Do not worry about studying advanced information such as cardiology prior to the program. The most important focus for your preparation should be improving your grasp of your EMT knowledge, medical terminology and basic anatomy and physiology.
