Entry Requirements
Entry to the Paramedic Program requires students to:
- Attend Orientation (click here for dates)
- Submit required Items for entrance to EMS1 to the Health Career Resource Center (Bldg. 67B rm 250):
- A copy of your certified California EMT card. Card must be current.
- An Experience Letter on official stationary from your EMS employer(s) signed by the owner/manager/chief. Letter must verify the completion of a minimum of 1200 hours within the last 2 years of pre-hospital field experience as an EMT. This experience must include field transport and should contain 911 experience.
- A copy of your current Driver License
- A copy of your current California Ambulance Driver License
- A copy of your current AHA CPR Healthcare Provider Card (includes 2-rescuer CPR).
- Completed Mt. San Antonio College Application for semester in which EMS 1 begins
- Completed Paramedic Program Application (click here for application)
- Complete Mt. SAC Assessment Tests (Math, Reading and English)
- Transcripts
- For an in-depth explanation of required items see pages 2 & 3 of the information packet.
- Upon notification of approval of completed packet, Register for EMS 1 (priority determined by registration date*)
- Complete EMS 1 with grade of C or Better
- Register for EMS 2 (priority determined by registration date*)
- Complete EMS 2 with grade of C or Better. Class acceptance based upon available seats and registration date.
- Register for EMS 10, 30, 40, 50 and 60.
*Based on the California Education Code the Paramedic Program is required to select qualified students by registration date.
