Prerequisite Courses for Graduate Dietetics Programs

Are you a post-baccalaureate student preparing to apply to a graduate-level dietetics program?
The Nutrition and Foods Program at Mt. SAC offers prerequisite coursework to help you prepare for admission to a graduate-level dietetics program.
 

Courses Offered

    • NF 20: Principles of Foods
      C-ID NUTR 120
      NF 20 introduces the scientific principles of food preparation and provides hands-on experience in the food laboratory. Topics include food composition, ingredient functions, food safety, preparation techniques, and the physical and chemical changes that occur during cooking.
    • NF 25: Introduction to Nutrition Science
      C-ID NUTR 110
      NF 25 provides an introduction to the scientific study of nutrition. Topics include nutrients, digestion and metabolism, energy balance, health promotion, chronic disease prevention, and nutrition throughout the life cycle.

Many post-baccalaureate students take Nutrition and Foods courses at Mt. SAC while preparing to enter graduate-level dietetics programs. Our courses provide an affordable and accessible way to complete required or recommended prerequisites while building a strong foundation in nutrition and food science. We welcome post-baccalaureate students and invite you to join us at Mt. San Antonio College.
