VIDEO: Horticulture Program has a Happy Holiday

It was the most wonderful time of the year over at Mt. SAC’s Horticulture Program, as the wholesale nursery they operate year round kicks into high gear in November to handle orders for several thousand poinsettias.
Mt. SAC’s nursery is open to the public year round for plant sales. Winter and Summer Hours Mon – Thur: 8am - 1pm Spring and Fall Hours: Mon-Fri: 8am - 1pm
The program offers 4 degrees or 11 certificates for students to choose from, with
a great many students from all these fields helping out with the poinsettia business.
The sale teaches students everything from maintaining and growing a greenhouse plant
for commercial sale, to the retail operation of a nursery.
In addition to the daily nursery operation, plant sales occur at the Mt. SAC Farmers’ Market booth each Saturday, 8am – 2pm.
