Mt. SAC ranked #1 Community College in Greater Los Angeles

For the second consecutive year, Mt. SAC has been ranked as the No. 1 Community College by EdSmart.org.
 
Colleges across the Greater Los Angeles area populated the 2025 rankings, which were compiled using extensive research from Niche.com and the National Center for Education Statistics. 

EdSmart formulates its rankings using data on degrees and certificates available, the costs of attending the college, and earning potential of alumni.

At Mt. SAC, students can choose from over 400 degree and certificate programs. Online and in-person options are available to meet the academic, training, and scheduling needs of anyone pursuing higher education.

With classes at just $46 a unit, Mt. SAC offers students a high-quality education for much less than UCs, CSUs, and private colleges. Students can save tens of thousands of dollars by starting at Mt. SAC and then transferring to a four-year university or using their degree or certificate to secure a well-paying job.

According to the National Center for Education, students who complete an associate’s degree earn 13 percent more than the median earnings of high school completers. Certificates also increase a graduate’s value by updating skills and/or helping to start a new career.
