Scholarship Opportunities
Here are some scholarship opportunities for horticulture students. You can't get free money if you don't apply!!! Applying is easier than you might think!
Mt. SAC Horticulture Departmental Scholarships
These are Scholarships that are only available to Mt. SAC Horticulture/Agriculture Students. The General Mt. SAC scholarship application must be submitted, and additional application is required for some. Please apply for all that you may be eligible for! Deadline to apply is April 14, 2026!
- Harold Breedlove (apply in General Application)
- John Marman Memorial Scholarship - For students who are currently working/interning in the turf industry or interested in a career in turf.
- Olin and Jessie Wolfinbarger Family Scholarship - Open to Mt. SAC Horticulture students. (apply in General Application)
- Mathew Romo Memorial Scholarship - Open to Mt. SAC Horticulture students.
- Visosky Family Scholarship - For Mt. SAC students pursuing a career in irrigation or water resource management.
- Orange County Farm Bureau Scholarship - Open to all Mt SAC Agriculture related majors. (apply in General Application)
- Los Angeles Garden Club Scholarship - Open to Mt. SAC Horticulture Students.
Horticulture Scholarships from Outside Organizations
These are scholarships from organizations outside of Mt. SAC, but they are specifically for horticulture students. These scholarships are open to Mt. SAC students as well as students from other colleges. Apply for all that you might be eligible for!
- California Landscape Contract Association's LEAF Scholarships (Due April 15, 2026)
- Pesticide Applicators Professional Association Scholarship (PAPA) $3,000 (Due April 30, 2026)
- American Floral Endowment - various scholarships for floral and horticulture students (Due May 1, 2026)
- California Pest Control Advisors (CAPCA) Stanley W. Strew Scholarship - $3,000 (Due May 4, 2026)
- Western Region Certified Crop Advisor (WRCCA) Agronomy Scholarship $1000 (Due May 22, 2026)
Mt. SAC General Scholarships
These scholarship opportunities are for all Mt. SAC students, and may not be specific to horticulture. New opportunities are posted regularly. For more information, visit the Mt. SAC Scholarship Homepage.
- Mt. SAC Scholarships - Most Mt. SAC Scholarships are available in Spring, but others come up throughout
the year. It is worth checking!

Conference/Training Scholarships
These scholarships offer opportunities for students to attend conferences or trainings that are horticulture related.
- Western Chapter International Society of Arboriculture (WCISA) Annual Conference and
Trade Show - Yosemite, CA April 27–30, 2026. Students are invited to apply for a reimbursement
scholarship up to $1500 to cover eligible expenses such as travel, lodging, and conference
registration. Recipients will be asked to volunteer during the conference. Application
deadline is March 27, 2026.
