Scholarship Opportunities

Here are some scholarship opportunities for horticulture students.  You can't get free money if you don't apply!!!  Applying is easier than you might think!

Mt. SAC Horticulture Departmental Scholarships

These are Scholarships that are only available to Mt. SAC Horticulture/Agriculture Students.  The General Mt. SAC scholarship application must be submitted, and additional application is required for some.  Please apply for all that you may be eligible for!  Deadline to apply is April 14, 2026!

Horticulture Scholarships from Outside Organizations

These are scholarships from organizations outside of Mt. SAC, but they are specifically for horticulture students.  These scholarships are open to Mt. SAC students as well as students from other colleges.  Apply for all that you might be eligible for!

• Desert Green Linn Mills Scholarship - Applications are due September 8th, 2026.
• California Association of Nurseries CANERS Scholarships (Due September 30, 2026)
• Sports Field Management Association (SFMA) Scholarships - Various scholarships and amounts, Due 10/15/26
• Street Tree Seminar Scholarship - $500 - $1,500; due November 1, 2026.
• National Horticulture Foundation – Various scholarships, Due January 15

Mt. SAC General Scholarships

These scholarship opportunities are for all Mt. SAC students, and may not be specific to horticulture.  New opportunities are posted regularly.    For more information, visit the Mt. SAC Scholarship Homepage. 

• Mt. SAC Scholarships - Most Mt. SAC Scholarships are available in Spring, but others come up throughout the year.  It is worth checking!

Conference/Training Scholarships

These scholarships offer opportunities for students to attend conferences or trainings that are horticulture related.  

• Desert Green 2026 Conference - Las Vegas, NV ,September 29-30, 2026. The Fortier Excellence in Education Scholarship (FEES) award will allow the awardee/s to attend the annual Desert Green conference. FEES will pay for both days and cover all registration fees for educational sessions, meals, handouts, and entrance to the trade show. Travel and lodging will be included for out-of-the area recipients.
