Multi-Criteria Screening

Criteria Points Required Supporting Documentation
 

1. Graduation from a NAACLS accredited HT or HTL program. (cannot be combined, maximum 20 points). HT 25 must be completed prior to the start of the bachelor’s degree classes. Current enrollment will be considered.

Graduation from Mt. San Antonio College’s HT program and completion of HT 25. 20  Unofficial transcript from regionally accredited U.S. colleges or universities with degree posted.
Graduation from Mt. San Antonio College’s HT program. 15  Unofficial transcript from regionally accredited U.S. colleges or universities with degree posted.
Completion of core and HT classes from Mt. San Antonio College’s HT program. 10 Unofficial transcript from Mt. San Antonio College and/or regionally accredited U.S. colleges or universities.
Graduation from another NAACLS accredited associate degree HT
program.
10 Unofficial transcript from regionally accredited U.S. colleges or universities with degree posted.
Graduation from another NAACLS accredited HT program AND a minimum of an associate degree. 5 Unofficial transcript from regionally accredited U.S. colleges or universities with degree posted AND proof of completion of a NAACLS accredited HT program.
2. HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification (cannot be combined, maximum 10 points)

HT/HTL Certification. Certification must be current to receive points.

3. Completion of IGETC or CSU-GE lower division pattern (cannot be combined, maximum 5 points)
Degree from a CSU, UC, or regionally accredited U.S. college or university. 5 Unofficial transcript a CSU or UC with degree posted.
Completion of IGETC or CSU lower division general education classes. 5 Unofficial transcript from regionally accredited U.S. colleges or universities.
75% completion of IGETC or CSU lower
division general education classes.

4. Work or Volunteer Experience in Histotechnology (cannot be combined, maximum 10 points)
Recent paid work experience in a histology laboratory within the last 2 years. 10 Letter from current/former employer verifying work experience greater than 1000 hours of employment. The letter must be on organization letterhead with an original signature and must include the applicant’s name (must match name on application), start date and end date (if applicable), employment status (full-time/part-time), total number of hours worked, and examples of job duties related to histotechnology, and job title. Multiple letters may be submitted for proof of employment hours.
Recent volunteer work experience in a histology laboratory within the last 2 years. 5 Letter from current/former organization verifying volunteer service of at least 300 hours. The letter must be on organization letterhead with an original signature and must include the applicant’s name (must match name on application), start date and end date (if applicable), total number of hours volunteered, and examples of duties related to histotechnology. Multiple letters may be submitted for proof of volunteer hours.
5. Life experiences or special circumstances (maximum 4 points)

 Official transcripts will be required for admission.

Falsification of any documentation will disqualify applicants from entering the program. All documents uploaded must include applicants name (must match name on application).
