Dr. Raul Chavez

I am Dr. Raul Chavez, my ancestors are Otomi and Tarahumara. I consider myself a survivor of colonizer education. It is my duty, as an elder, to prepare the next generation of Indigenous Youth to employ the tools our ancestors have given us to heal Mother Earth and prepare ourselves to accept our responsibilities as the keepers of the fire. 

My colonizer DNA sometimes takes over and causes me to confront the wrongs of the world with an unfiltered aggressive nature. I may not be able to change the world, but I have a moral obligation to keep trying.
