Kissbell Preza (Maya)

Join us as we learn wisdom from Maya descendant, Kissbell Preza. Kissbell serves as an Indigenous activist, artist, muralist, actress, dancer, and more! Kissbell is a strong advocate for the Indigenous community, specifically around Missing and Murdered Indigenous Woman, Girls, & 2 Spirit (MMIWG2S). Kissbell's advocacy efforts can be seen in donated art within the First Peoples Native Center!

Multicultural CenterJoin us as we learn wisdom from Purépecha descendant, Javi Pulpolibri! Previously serving as Smashbox Makeup's first 2-Spirit model, Javi channels ancestral wisdom through their. gifts as a curator, mulimedia artist, and community organizer. Their art and events bridge contemporary practices with traditional Native ways of knowing, centering Indigenous voices and 2-Spirit experiences. Javi's portfolio spans murals, photography, and pop-up exhibitions that celebrate culture and community.

Indigenous Resilience for Healing Trauma
Join us in community as we learn wisdom from Professor Jessica Ross a Denaina Athabascan tribal member of the Native Village of Eklutna, Alaska.
She is completing her PhD in Indigenous Studies focusing on Indigenous ways of healing through trauma. She has also founded the Nughejagh Project (Dena'ina for "to become whole") which explores the implications of trauma and potential healing impacts of Indigenous cultural revitalization.

First Peoples Native Center Presents:A Multicultural Experience:Beading Circle Preserving Indigenous ArtMy name is Naidelyn Ramirez and I am Indigenous to Mexico from the State of Guerrero. I’ve been beading for about 2 years now and I plan on doing it as long as I possibly can.
Beading is important to me because it’s something that I feel is helping me reconnect with a part of me that I’m still learning about. Being able to teach people to bead is the best part about beading because I get to share a part of my culture that has a lot of significance.
