Welcome Our New Co-Sustainability Coordinator, Lauren Greenberg
Lauren Greenberg, ASL professor at Mt. SAC, recently expanded her role to become the college's Co-Sustainability Coordinator, along with Dr. Tania Anders. Passionate about education and environmental stewardship, Lauren is leading initiatives to promote sustainability on campus, integrating eco-conscious practices into her ASL curriculum while empowering students and faculty to embrace environmentally friendly behaviors. She has hit the ground running and is already mentoring several of our student interns. We are excited to have her on our team!

Mt. SAC Campus Race to Zero Waste
January 29th to March 23rd, 2024
This year Mt. SAC is participating in the Campus Race to Zero Waste (CR2ZW) competition
which runs until March 23rd, 2024. CR2ZW is a national competition and benchmarking
tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities
in their campus communities. Mt. SAC is competing in two categories: Overall Diversion
and Basketball Game Day. Mt. SAC is currently ranked 8th in the national contest with
a 59% diversion rate. Keep up the great work! If you are on campus during this time,
we encourage you to make an extra effort towards recycling. Signs will be posted around
campus to help direct you to recycling locations. For more information about the structure
and rules of the competition, visit the CR2ZW website.
Mt. SAC E-waste, Universal Waste,
and Battery Pick up

Great news for the Mt. SAC campus community! You can now safely dispose of e-waste,
ink cartridges, and other universal waste generated from your on-campus offices. Take
advantage of this convenient service to responsibly recycle your electronic and hazardous
waste, contributing to a cleaner and greener environment right from within our campus
grounds. Let's work together to ensure the sustainable management of our waste and
