Fall Leadership Conference

    • What is it?

      The Fall Leadership Conference is a cherished Mt. SAC tradition hosted and sponsored by the Associated Students each Fall semester.   Mt. SAC students who are selected to attend will learn about leadership identity, team dynamics, diversity and environmental consciousness while connecting with other students and staff.  The conference is typically held in beautiful Lake Arrowhead.

      • Attendees will be able to articulate how their personal strengths and cultural identities influence their approach to leadership.
      • Practice mindfulness and grounding techniques (like sound bath and meditation) to enhance self-awareness and manage stress.
      • Successfully work with a diverse team to solve a complex challenge, recognizing the importance of diverse perspectives for collective success.
      • Define and articulate their core personal values and relate them to their daily leadership decisions.
      • Be able to bring learned leadership skills back to campus where they can be utilized in governance opportunities such as serving on Associated Students, RSCO Officer position or College-Wide Committees.

      When do applications open?
      The first two (2) weeks of the Fall Semester. 
       
      What are the eligibility requirements to apply?
      1. Be a first-time conference attendee (past attendees are automatically ineligible for this conference)
      2. Current semester Student Activities Fee paid
      3. 2.0 cumulative MT. SAC GPA or be a 1st semester student
      4. Currently enrolled in a minimum of 5 credit units
      5. No disciplinary record with the College
      6. Be available to attend the conference in its entirety
      When will I know if I've been selected as a participant?
      Two (2) weeks after applications close. 
       
      If I attended in the past, can I attend again?
      No.  Only students who have not had the opportunity to participate will be considered.
       
      How long is the trip? 
      3 days and 2 night (Friday - Sunday)
       
      Where is the conference held?
       
      Is transportation provided?
      Yes!  All participants are required to ride with the group.

      Is housing and food provided?
      Yes!  Shared housing is provided along with meals and snacks throughout the day/night.
       

Applications

Applications open online in the fall semester, usually the first two weeks of the semester.
