Mammography Program


Mission Statement

The mission of the Mammography Program at Mt. San Antonio College is to prepare students to become competent entry level Mammographers. The program will provide a comprehensive curriculum in the study and clinical practice of Mammography, including evolving technical skills. Our goal is to provide students with the necessary clinical and academic experiences to be eligible to apply for ARRT credentialing and CA state certification in Mammography.

The Mammography Program's mission is consistent with the College's mission in that it supports students in achieving their full educational potential in an environment of academic excellence.

Goal #1 - Students will be clinically competent.
SLOs:

  • Students will produce diagnostic quality radiographs.
  • Students will develop the necessary skills to provide patient-centered care.

Goal #2 - Students will communicate effectively.
SLOs:

  • Students will develop knowledge of effective communication.
  • Students will demonstrate effective communication skills using various types of communication.

Goal #3 - Students will develop critical thinking skills.
SLOs:

  • Students will critique images to determine diagnostic quality.
  • Students will determine corrective measures for non-diagnostic images.
