Matt of Artsz
Matt of Arts is one of the on-air personalities on Mt. Rock, with his show being all
about the arts. But when Matt isn't in front of the mic, you can often find him pursuing
one of his many interests.
During certain parts of the year, you can find Matt teaching both music and marching
at school and independent marching bands and percussion groups. He himself marched
in the percussion sections of his high school band for 4 years, and then he continued
marching for 4 more years with independent groups such as the Velvet Knights Drum
and Bugle Corps, the Watchmen Drum and Bugle Corps, Dark Sky Percussion, and Valley
Independent Percussion.
During other parts of the year, you can find Matt performing at Renaissance fairs
around California with the pirate acting group, Barrett's Privateers, or working events
centered around all things nerdy with Club Cosplay. Matt also enjoys going to and
working at theme parks as well, having worked at Walt Disney World for a year and
working at Universal Studios Hollywood during Halloween Horror Nights every year he
can.
In whatever spare time Matt can find outside of those things, you can find him writing
music and short stories, playing video games, traveling to new places, crafting something
new (he particularly loves working with metal), street performing, designing his next
cosplay, watching a movie or play, trying a new recipe, making a video or podcast,
practicing martial arts, ballroom dancing, and reading novels and comics.
Matt is currently pursuing 4 degrees in Radio Broadcasting: On-Air, Radio Broadcasting:
Behind-the-Scenes, Welding, and Education Paraprofessional: Instructional Assistant.
