Sarah Nichols

Prof. Nichols joined the Mt. SAC faculty full-time in 2018 after teaching at several area colleges. She is currently Co-Chair of the Physics and Engineering department, and is also active with the Academic Senate (faculty organization).

Prof. Nichols earned a Ph.D. in Physics from Stony Brook University in atomic and molecular optics, examining the interaction of small molecules with femtosecond (~10-15 s) pulsed lasers. She still enjoys adding optics fun facts to as many of her classes as possible.
