Art Galleries and Museums courses open for Fall 2025!

Are you interested in how museums and art galleries work? Are you an artist interested in showing your own work with a gallery one day? Do you love field trips to see real world examples of what we're learning in class?

Then ARTG20: Art and Culture - Galleries, Museums, and Their Communities (CRN 20618) is the class you MUST TAKE! There are only a few seats left for Fall 2025 so sign up ASAP to secure a spot.

This is a practical, career-oriented course that covers everything from museum and gallery careers, curating, art writing, designing and installing exhibitions, to art criticism, and much more. We take field trips to experience what we've been talking about in the real world, and there are lots of opportunities for hands-on learning. Even if you're just curious about art and want to learn more about it, this is a great introduction to the field.

This is a Degree Applicable, CSU, UC course.

Want to do even more? Sign up for ARTG23: Writing for Arts Careers (CRN 20816), an eight-week course where you will learn to advertise yourself through artist statements, artist biographies, letters of introduction/cover letters, press releases, and exhibitions reviews!

If you need help with the prerequisite for ARTG23 contact Professor Phoebe Millerwhite pmillerwhite@mtsac.edu and she can assist you.
