Political Science
The main objective of Political Science courses is to prepare students to use rigorous research methods and critical thinking in their analysis of theories and institutions appropriate to the discipline and its subfields. Students study Political Science for a variety of reasons. Foremost among them is that Political Science provides a broad liberal arts education that is focused on politics and public life. This makes students of Political Science well suited for careers in law, government, business, and journalism. Many undergraduates use their majors as a foundation to pursue graduate degrees in Political Science or in related humanities and social science disciplines such as Philosophy or Sociology.
Transfer Preparation
Most colleges and universities offer baccalaureate degrees in Political Science. Students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university need to know which courses completed at Mt San Antonio College will be accepted at the school they are transferring to. They are advised to consult a Counselor. Mt SAC has transfer articulation agreements with UCs and CSUs, as well as many private and out-of-state institutions of higher education.
